New Island

This underscores the importance of keeping a lookout on deck at all times. Who says geology is boring?

Yacht Transport: Victoria to Ensenada

Mike and Sam went to Seattle to move Persistence from her slip in Seattle to Victoria to board the transport ship. They, along with a captain, navigated the All American Ship Canal and turbulent Juan de Fuca, passed through the Ballard Locks and dodged floating logs in stormy weather to safely arrive in beautiful Victoria. The boat ran perfectly and reached a top cruise speed of 22 knots!

In Victoria the yacht was craned onto the deck of the transport vessel and is currently underway from Victoria, BC to Ensenada, Mexico. We plan to meet the ship when it arrives in Ensenada this weekend.

Persistence...

Persistence...

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derilicts. Persistence and determination alone are ominpotent." ~Calvin Coolidge
